KANSAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP BBQ CONTEST

Prairie Band Casino & Resort is hosting its 9th Annual Barbeque Contest. This is a KCBS (Kansas City Barbeque Society) sanctioned event. The Grand Champion will receive $2,500, a trophy, an invitation to the 2019 American Royal Invitational and a drawing entry to the Jack Daniels Invitational 2019.
The competition is open to professional and amateur barbeque teams. The competition will start Friday with check-in, the People’s Choice and Best Sauce Contest. Judging begins at noon on Saturday for all KCBS Meat Categories and finish with the best side dish competition.
5:00 PM – 10:00 PM People’s Choice
- Teams participating in the People’s Choice contest will sell food to the public starting at 5:00PM and ending at 10:00PM, or when their food runs out.
- BBQ Bucks are used to purchase food from participating teams. 1 BBQ Buck = $1.
5:00 PM-8:00 PM Best Sauce Contest
- Judging will take place on Friday night Judging Area.
- Guests can judge for free they taste the sauces and vote for their favorite.
7 PM-9 PM Entertainment
